Alison started her career with Coopers & Lybrand in 1995 and became a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1998.
John joined Abbey Tax in the summer of 2009 as the company’s first employee, ‘working from Alison’s dining room table'.
Andy is a relatively recent convert to R&D Tax Relief having pursued a career in insurance claims management for over 25 years with a number of senior management roles before joining Abbey Tax in 2012
Melanie has been working at Abbey Tax since April 2011 after working as a PA to a Tax Director for a mainly London based accountancy firm with a small Sheffield office.
Mark graduated from university with a degree in Business Studies. He started his professional career with Goodband Viner Taylor, where he spent six years learning his trade as an accountant.
Natalia’s passion for people and business prompted her to join Abbey Tax in 2016, as Business Development Manager. Her commercial experience was a natural fit with the Capital Allowances division.
Nick’s career in the accountancy profession started at Cambridge based firm Peters, Elworthy & Moore (PEM) and has been exclusively in tax, specifically business and corporate tax.
Following a particular interest in mathematics and finance, Hayley always aspired to enter the world of accounting.
Rachael’s career started at a small accountancy firm. After getting the bug for taxation rather than accounts Rachael gained her Association of the Taxation Technicians qualification in 2003
Adam graduated from the University of Sheffield with an Upper Second-Class Bachelor of Science Economics degree in 2013, and joined Abbey Tax in the summer of the same year.
David obtained his Doctorate in December 2013. Following this David worked as an Engineering Scientist Post Doc at the University of Oxford
Chris joined Abbey Tax in November 2014 after graduating from Newcastle University with a BSc Hons in Financial Mathematics.
James came to Abbey Tax in 2014 and has a strong tax background having previously worked as a Tax Inspector with HMRC working in the Large Business Sector.
Steve is an ACA qualified accountant, he graduated from the University of Warwick in 2008 with a first class degree in chemistry, before going on to complete an MPhil in the same subject.
Holly graduated from the University of Sheffield in June 2012 with a first class degree in Accounting and Financial Management and Information Management.
Over the last 15 years Simon has personally written and negotiated contracts for many R&D grant funded projects with budgets ranging from £25,000 to £1.5m.
During his time as a writer, Matt has sourced money for medical device, engineering, equipment, renewable energy and IT companies.
Marc joined the funding team in 2016 and has written successful bids for Innovate UK and Horizon 2020 competitions.
Running the office and accounts for her husband’s two businesses for the last 30 years, as well as controlling the back office requirements of Abbey Tax, Lynne is certainly kept busy.
Phoebe started work at Abbey Tax in August 2015 after a work experience period at the company earlier in the year.
