VAT Investigations – during these investigations and disputes, expert representation is vital and our ex-HMRC VAT Inspectors know all the tricks of the trade. VAT Tribunal Representation – if your client’s investigation has reached a Tribunal Hearing, significant representation is required to present the case to HMRC. We have handled thousands of Tribunal cases and have an excellent success rate.

Abbey Tax has a large experienced team of 18 Consultants based around the UK who are available to assist your practice.

Tax Investigations support
All our Consultants are highly-trained ex-Revenue Tax & VAT Inspectors and between them have over 400 years of technical experience. Our team represent FSB members under enquiry and handle over 300 investigations a year. They are available to advise and assist you in dealing with enquiries or they can deal with HMRC directly on your behalf if you prefer.

Specialist Investigations

We are able to deal with the more serious investigation cases handled by the Civil Investigation of Fraud teams and Specialist Investigations (formally SCI/SCO) under Codes of Practice 8 and 9.

Tax & VAT Helplines 
Our advisors are all highly qualified and have previously worked either in practice or for HMRC. They handle over 35,000 calls a year, covering a variety of tax and VAT matters, and Abbey Tax Fee Protection clients have free, unlimited access to this helpline.
