Abbey Tax employs over 50 members of staff, a good number of whom have been with us for many years. All of our executive management team have celebrated over 10 years of being part of the Abbey Tax team.
Executive Management
Abbey Tax is managed by an Executive team who all have a wealth of experience in taxation, HMRC investigations and insurance. Our Executive Management team consists of:
Colin Davison – Chief Executive Officer of Abbey Protection Group Limited
Colin founded Abbey Tax Protection Limited in December 1996 as a sister company to Abbey Legal Protection Limited. Colin is the CEO of Abbey Protection plc which is the ultimate holding company for Abbey Protection Group. Colin directed the company's flotation on the Alternative Investment Market in October 2007.
Liz Grace - Operations Director of Abbey Tax Protection
Liz helped Colin set up Abbey Tax Protection Ltd in December 1996. She became Operations Director of Abbey Tax in 2001 and an Abbey Protection Group Ltd main Board Director in 2004. Liz has responsibility for the day to day running of Abbey Tax.
David Marples – Affinity Group Manager
David heads up the Consultancy team. David worked in the Revenue for 14 years as both an Employer Compliance Officer and Inspector of Taxes before joining Abbey Tax in 1997. He manages our UK based team of investigations consultants and works closely with our affinity groups.
Richard Hainsworth- National Sales Manager
Richard joined Abbey Tax as an Area Manager in 1999. He now heads up our UK sales team and is responsible for overseeing our renewal bank of over £12million.
Debbie Jarman

Claims & Underwriting Manager
Debbie joined Abbey Tax on incorporation in January 1997. She heads up both the Underwriting and Claims sections and is responsible for assessing and setting new business and renewal premiums. Debbie also oversees all claims made on our policies.
Paul Mason – Contractor Division Manager
Paul has been with Abbey Tax since 1997 and now heads up our Contractor Division which provides services and products to the contractor/freelancer market including IR35 Contract Reviews and Survive 35.
